CONGRESSIONAL REVIEW DUE SOON, HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS!!
GREAT NEWS TO COME AS RESULT OF JUNE'S HOUSE JUDICIARY SUBCOMITTEE HEARING, SEPTEMBER'S SENATE COMMERCE HEARING, AND THE OVER 600 LETTER YOU WROTE TO BRENT BOYD TO PERSONALLY HAND TO CONGRESS AS PART OF BOTH HIS TESTIMONIES - YOUR LETTERS WERE READ AND WE WILL SEE HOW BIG A DIFFERNCE WE MADE TOGETHER
Boyd testifies to Congress, June, 2007
let's see the results, perhaps soon!
We have immediate deadlines to submit new disability applications, appeasement too late from Alliance
BUT we have been given NO applications!!!
If you don't submit that non-existent application, they say, exactly on time,..you are screwed for life!!!
This by the same group who, with an army of attornies, could not/ would not answer the United States Congress' questions within WEEKS after their deadline...
THIS from the group who, as the phrase Brent Boyd coined, have been abusing us with "DELAY, DENY, AND HOPE WE DIE!"
INCREASE IN DISABILITY PAYMENTS
Those who alredy receive non-football related disability just had their montly bnefits almost doubled....not good enoug, not the full payments deserved, so don't get complacent.
But, even this small improvement would not have occurred without pressure from all our fronts,, not just one but attacking from every possible angle.
/the increase coincidentally came shortly after the chart posted on this website showing that TWO men, Goodell at $11.7 million, and Upshaw at $7 million and growing..2 men made the same amount roughly as the NFL admitted they paid annually to ALL disabled players, $20 mil
We can always count on Bernie Parrish to dig up the numbers, thanks Bernie for your diligence.
know your enemy!
all our woes have been carefully and behind cloded doors, cooked up by Doug Ell and Groom Law Group
his tools below, which hypnotize all courts hamstrung by poorly written ERISA laws, he is now facing the US Congress...guys, he's going down
Doug Ell, Groom Law Group
Ell hides in his lair directly across from the WHITE HOUSE..paid by fees out of OUR OWN RETIREMENT FUND to deny US benefits, to join cases in Supreme Court that take our rights away
/the 1st action of the Boyd plan was to fire Groom Law..most of the other actions recommeneded by Boyd have been implemented (w/o acknowldgent) but not until Groom is fired and long gone can we resume trust

ESPN'S PETER KEATING ARTICLE
ESPN's top investigative reporter Peter Keating releases article with latest updates on Congressional progress, the answers provided by NFL/NFLPA to Congress, what some mebers of Congress are saying for the first time, and what they think the next moves might be.
This article even mentions DIGNITY AFTER FOOTBALL!!!
Besides Brent Boyd, there is a side article on DAf founding member Sharon Hawkins, so this is a heavy-DAF-influenced article, and a must read for the latest update on our Congressional progress.

SHARON AND WAYNE HAWKINS
One of DAF's founders Sharon Hawkins writes the story of her and husband Wayne's troubles with NFL through the years, up to the current fight just getting promised "88 Plan" benefits...when the trumpets sounded and the balloons were released, many were fooled into thinking 88 Plan was a benevelolent gesture by NFL, but it is just a way to get out of simply paying full benefits from the start, another PR move...read Sharon'sheartbreaking story, including the relity of contemplating GETTING A DIVORCE JUST TO COLLECT THE IMPOSSIBLE TO COLLECT 88 PLAN BENEFITS!!!

KYLE TURLEY BEGINS DISCUSSING HIS ENORMOUS GESTURE FOR FORMER PLAYERSWITH DAF
Due to his love for his former college coach, DAF's Ed White, Kyle Turley first began discussions in early November regarding his intention to donate an entire game check and get otehrs involved. After much discussion, This monumental gesture was rightfully moved to our brothers and sisters at Gridiron Greats around Thanksgiving, and eventually became "Gridiron Guardian Sunday", coming Dec 23rd..many players are joining Kyle in his efforts and making a huge public statement
We thank Kyle Turley for what he is doing for us "old-timers", and we at DAF have a special affection and connection with Kyle and are grateful for being involved from the start.
We love you, brother! Thank you!!!

From News Services and Staff Reports
"COURTS: A U.S. District Court judge in San Francisco approved a request filed by former NFL players Bernie Parrish and Herb Adderley to refile a lawsuit against Players Inc., the marketing subsidiary of the NFL Players Association. The suit, which alleges that Players Inc. denied millions of dollars in royalties from licensing and marketing opportunities, was thrown out two months ago because Parrish and Adderley had failed to adequately prove their claims.
At the time, the players' attorney, Ron Katz, said they needed documents from Players Inc. to buttress the charges. Once those documents were handed over, the request to refile was made."

DAF HAS VIDEO PROOF OF PERJURY IN HOUSE HEARING
DAF will bring you breaking news, relevant discoveries, Congressional updates, and we will never run out of conflicting tidbits out of the mouth of Mr. Upshaw and others...to kick this site off, while we are under construction, is a sample of what's to come...
DAF will hold the NFL/NFLPA accountable and to prove to you, the media, and those on Capitol Hill that they cannot be taken for their word; a GAO audit is a must demand, and anti-trust gifts must be revoked until proven worthy.
Below are 3 quick video clips, a warning by chair Linda Sanchez that penalties for lying to Congress applied, a statement, later repeated, by NFL Senior VP Dennis Curran, saying ALL benefits are paid for by owners only; and then, spitting in the face of congress is Groom Law's Doug Ell saying the total opposite, that only the PLAYERS pay for retired players benefits. Both cannot be true, someone is lying. Current players are being pit against retired players by being told, mistakenly, that they are paying $82K each per year for us old-timers out of their own pockets.
Not true, but here is Doug Ell telling Congress it is true anyway
The owners AND current players can't both be paying our benefits, but see for yourself, that is what congress was told without batting an eye... .
At bottom of page is great reporting by ESPN catching Mr. Upshaw in a flat out lie. We are not here to personally attack anyone, but when we have precious actions, videos, and articles, and can use their own words to make our point, we will certainly do so.
These are just samples to get our site up and running.
PLEASE SEND IN YOUR OWN EXAMPLES !!!

UPSHAW TRIES TO WEASEL OUT OF TRUTH
Excerpt from Feb 8 2007
by John Barr and Arty Berko
"To say that the NFLPA is 'doctor shopping,' we don't have anything to do with it, with the process," Upshaw said.
The facts say otherwise. The retirement board, the ultimate authority on disability cases, is made up of three league and three union representatives.
To say the union has nothing to do with the process is simply untrue.
Upshaw went on to say, "If a doctor determines that a player is entitled to a disability and he meets the standards he gets it."
But in Boyd's case, two doctors, chosen by the retirement board, determined his disability was football-related and his claim was still rejected.
